Frequently asked questions about spine and nerve care

How do I know if your care is right for my condition?

The best way to know is through a proper clinical assessment. We look at your symptoms, medical history, movement, examination findings, and, where available, imaging such as an MRI or X-ray.

From there, we can determine whether our approach is appropriate for your condition or whether another type of care may be more suitable.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your first visit is mainly about understanding your condition. We discuss your symptoms and medical history, perform a clinical assessment, and review any relevant scans or reports you may have.

We then explain what we have found, what may be contributing to your symptoms, and the treatment options that may be appropriate for you.

Is chiropractic and spinal decompression care safe?

These treatments are generally considered safe when they are appropriately selected and provided by trained clinicians.

Before treatment, we assess your condition carefully to determine whether chiropractic care, spinal decompression or another approach is suitable for you. Some medical conditions may require a different treatment option or further medical evaluation.

What if I have already tried medication, physiotherapy or injections?

It is common for patients to come to us after trying other forms of treatment.

Previous treatment does not automatically mean that nothing more can be done. We assess your condition again to understand what may still be contributing to your symptoms and whether a different or combined approach may be appropriate.

We may also recommend that you continue working with another healthcare professional when that is in your best interest.

How will you know whether my treatment is working?

Progress is assessed throughout your care. We look at changes in your pain, movement, strength, function and your ability to perform normal daily activities.

Your clinician will review your response regularly and make adjustments where necessary. If you are not progressing as expected, your care plan may be modified or further evaluation may be recommended.

Do you only provide chiropractic care?

No. Chiropractic care is only one part of what we provide.

Depending on your condition, your care may include physiotherapy and rehabilitation, spinal decompression, chiropractic care and other clinician-guided therapies.

The treatment recommended is based on your assessment and clinical needs, rather than using the same approach for every patient.
